Dixon, Chicago Gigs Report

Well a week of blues sets at Sturgis is comin’ soon… meanwhile back here in Illinois…

Another short Illinois city tour in the books. Dixon Correctional w. my friend and friends Todd Anthony Joos and the Revelators was a rockin’ show before a couple hundred men and officers, just an amazing time. We were truly received by the residents and we hope to get back there in the future! That was Friday.

On Saturday I opened the Vendetta’s Motorcycle Club 20180728_151746.jpg stage in Dixon with several of my guitars, 20180728_125923 a Hohner Special 20 harmonica and a brand new gift from Shawn (aka Skinny) who surprised me with a very special 3 string slide guitar he made for me- calls it the “Traveling Blues Stick”

DO click on that pic of the entire git to enlarge and really see the detail. Blew me away…

And I must say it inspired a whole ‘nother take on the old Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads Blues” yesterday.

Have a look at his site: www.facebook.com/cigarboxskinny/

Then back to Chicago, and today (Sunday) I played Uptown Church’s Foster Beach (on Lake Michigan) picnic with a couple of these gits and a cookin’ new 100 watt battery/a.c. powered amp and wireless mic system. Sweet weather, super cool peeps and very kind to the ol’ dude (me). Nice!

Monday I’m booked for another Cook Country Jail visit with residents needing some hope.

So -tomorrow I’ll post my August tour schedule. A LOT of shows goin’ on!

For now, it’s just so good to be home with Wendi and sleepin’ in my own bed 🙂

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
