So I bought a silver-foil pickup w. attached cable from my friends at CBGitty.Com and she sounds Nice! No pic w. pickup on it yet, maybe later tonight at the Berwyn show where I’ll play it live.
Had part of a pallet laying around, nothing but a table saw so lots of cuts and some in strange spots, nicks and otherwise crazy as I cut out a “sorta” git. But it’s one piece and paid for 🙂
So the git itself, a couple flathead nails, 3 wood pieces from old discarded curtain holder from our woodshop dumpster acting as bridge and nut, a Squirt bottle cap for looks (and the gits 18 3/4 size, therefore named “Squirt”) and has a 14 inch scale bridge-to-nut. Played in my lap with 1 wound G electric string stretched and tuned to hold pitch at G.
The ersatz bridge and nut pieces are in so tight I didn’t even bother gluing ’em in place. I confess I didn’t even bother smoothing out the neck edges nor sanding, nothing. It’s for me so… happy as is. Light, really small, fun.
And of course, played with an empty Tabasco bottle and either a pencil or an old Starbucks card piece for a pick.
Happy Saturday and git building out there!
As always, thanks for stopping by, -Glenn
