Wendi says I was born old! Ha, well, I love train travel, blues and have loved history and museums from my earliest youth. I have long loved Illinois, corn and bean fields for miles… and also truly have enjoyed St. Louis.
Had a full-on BLAST at the National Blues Museum in STL this past weekend on the Saturday. If you have any desire at all to learn about blues, the history of the wide and amazing group of people, the music genre and such, this is THE place to visit. Reasonable price, amazing sights, sounds, photos, live shows (caught parts of two sets: a cookin’ solo git picker and old time piano/vocal duo that killed) cool interactive stuff (including songwriting stations…) and really kind volunteers who were a treat to meet and chat with. I expect I’ll see ’em again 🙂
My friends in Hillsboro are gems… Sun. service, got to play a couple blues numbers and bring a message. All I can say is how gracious and amazing Dan and crew were at Christian Outreach Church. Wow.
