You just have to see, hear and play one to understand.
CREATIVE.
Art -HAPPENS- with these little “trash” instruments. Decorating them is part of the fun**.
BUILD.
You -CAN- build these! Amazing what satisfaction comes from realizing how simple to make these are.
MAKE MUSIC.
You -CAN- learn the basics of stringed instrument playing on them. In fact, there is no easier way than on a 1, 2 or 3 string slide guitar or 1 or 2 sting short-neck fretless bass! Far easier to learn and play than on 6 strings.
ZERO PAIN.
The bass “strings” are plastic (bass), no-hurt!! Using a bottle, bottle neck or metal pipe slide on steel strings (guitar) means you don’t press the strings down with your fingers… NO pain if you have never played guitar.
TRAVEL LIGHT.
These things are small, light and easy to build so are great for backpacking or tossing in an airplane overhead when flying. You can make a soft carry bag from an old pant leg (one leg) and some string to shut it… simple!
LOW-COST or FREE!
Yes. Neck, body, strings, something for tuning, something for a bridge and nut. You can even cut up old cd’s or dvd’s or credit cards to make picks/pics (choose yer spelin’…)!
LOST, STOLEN, YOUR DOG ATE IT?
No problemo… you can make another one in 90 minutes or less.
