It’s a cold, rainy day in Chicago. I love these sorts of days… and
love what I’m about to share here even more, for the sun shines above
the clouds -always.

Part of what Jesus has done for those who love and follow Him is to
make us “acceptable” to God- Father, Son, Spirit.

So many people walk this earth feeling like they can’t measure up
(none of us can!), that they continually blow it (I’m part of the same
club) and that nobody can really live out the many biblical
commandments without breaking at least several of them off and on (me
included). All this is part of life- but doesn’t BRING life to us.

It’s the Person of Jesus Who IS life who gives life and brings life to
us from His Word and Spirit.

Via Paul, the Spirit of God lays some amazing truth on us (Ephesians 1.6):

“to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted
in the Beloved.” NKJV

“[So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His
glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in
the Beloved.” AMP

“to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on
us in the Beloved.” NASB

The word “acceptable” has important definition in biblical Greek:

“to make graceful, charming, lovely, agreeable; to peruse with grace,
compass with favor; to honor with blessings”

That’s about YOU and ME as we trust and follow the true God! Amazing.

Paul makes it clear he’s not talking about living however we like,
that is, pretending we don’t sin or don’t have need to repent even as
Christians. “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that
grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any
longer in it? (Romans 6.1,2)

This loving Father sent His loving Son and pours out His loving Spirit
into our lives because there is truly no other way to “become
acceptable” to Him but through Jesus in faith and relationship. HE
makes us acceptable “in the Beloved”. Yep.

You may not feel “acceptable” or loved, but you need to adjust your
feelings to the facts… and get on with serving the Lord and others
this day- rain or shine!

Thanks for stopping by, -Glenn
